FAQ: Tulane Adobe Creative Jam

What is a Creative Jam?
Our Creative Jam is an opportunity to provide Adobe workshops to the entire Tulane community both in person and virtually to spread digital literacy, enhance educational experiences, and teach hard and soft skills used in professional settings. This year Tulane will host a one-day kick off event that offers free workshops (both in person and virtually) to the Tulane community. The workshops will teach participants how to use Adobe Express and Premier Rush applications and how to use them to enhance their academic, professional, or personal work to build their portfolios and improve their digital literacy and storytelling. We are also hosting a student-only competition following the workshops for students to create a multimedia project that embodies Tulane’s motto: Not for oneself but for one’s own. Learn more via our Adobe Creative Jam website.

Who can participate (register) for the Creative Jam?
The Creative Jam kick-off workshop event is open to the entire Tulane community, which means employees and students across all units and disciplines may participate in the free workshops and post workshop (working) sessions. However, only Tulane-enrolled, full- and part-time students (i.e., undergraduate, graduate, professional, etc.) may participate in the Creative Jam competition.

What is required to participate in the Creative Jam workshops?
All participants must register for the Creative Jam in order to participate in the workshops or competition. That is it! In person and virtual participants may register up to the start of workshops, which means we accept “walk up” registration. To participate, submit our online registration form.

What should the participate prepare or bring to the workshopping event? Workshop hosts will not provide devices to participants. Please bring and use your own computer or tablet devices. Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) apps are compatible with iOS and Windows devices. Learn more about Adobe CC system requirements including browsers and operating systems.

Do participants have to attend the Creative Jam workshops and the post workshop (working) sessions to compete? No, if you wish to only participate in the Creative Jam competition, you do not have to attend the workshops or working sessions. However, the competition is only open to Tulane enrolled students and they must register for the Creative Jam by Nov. 2, 2023 to qualify. If a participant is running late to a workshop, that person may still attend and compete.

Can participants attend the Creative Jam kick-off workshops without competing? Yes, you are not required to compete. We highly encourage all Tulanians to attend the free Creative Jam workshops and working sessions.
